Fortnum & Mason (F&M) has the “food fit for a queen” market cornered. The 300-year-old upscale British department store, famous for its picnic hampers, jams, teas, and sauces, provides the Queen with her annual supply of Christmas puddings. Founded in 1707, the store in Piccadilly houses five bars, tea rooms, and restaurants; it has additional stores at Heathrow Airport and St. Pancras Station and a prestigious restaurant on nearby Jermyn Street. While the majority of its sales are derived from food, F&M also sells fragrances and cosmetics, gifts, lingerie, luggage, tea sets, and other housewares. F&M is owned by Wittington Investments.
