Other offerings include identity theft coverage and yacht and collector car policies. The company also offers life insurance protection through subsidiary Patriot Life Insurance and its network of some 4,000 independent agents. More than 500 independent agencies market the firm’s products. Frankenmuth Mutual is licensed in 47 states and does business in 15 states east of the Mississippi. Founded by Bavarian settlers in 1868, the company limited its service to Michigan policyholders until the 1970s.
