Without this organization, New Yorkers might go hungry. National Restaurants Management, which does business as The Riese Organization, is among the largest multiple-franchise restaurant operators in New York City. Its portfolio of about 80 eateries includes quick-service outlets (Tim Hortons, KFC, and Pizza Hut) and chain restaurants (T.G.I. Friday’s and Houlihan’s); Riese also operates upscale Manhattan night spots such as Charley O’s and Times Square Grill. In addition to restaurants, the Riese Organization manages several real-estate holdings through a separate division. The company, founded by brothers Murray and Irving Riese in 1940, is controlled by CEO Dennis Riese (Murray’s son).
