Potamkin Automotive doesn’t mess with little states or small markets. A leading US auto dealer, Potamkin Automotive operates about 40 franchise locations in growth markets in California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York. Each Potamkin dealership is individually managed as a subsidiary partnership. The company coalesced from a network of auto dealerships owned by the Potamkin family, and has grown through acquisitions of new- and used-car dealerships. Brands include Audi, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, GMC, Hyundai, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Porsche. The late Victor Potamkin opened his first dealership in 1954, and his two sons, Robert and Alan, now own and run the company as co-chairmen.
